Aug 28Fri 4:30p BSoccer-JV/VAR-KC East Christian Academy @ SH-SHHS This was a great game. The 1st half was kind of slow but KCECA scored within the first 5 minutes. Cody Jesse was able to tie the game in the 36th minute. Half-time score 1-1. 2nd half there was a lot more action with shots coming from everywhere. Dalton Rudy has a chance to put the game away but hit the cross bar with a shot from just inside the box. KCECA took the ball and countered quick and scored with only 3 minutes left in the game. Spring Hill did not get down. They made the best of it and was able to score with only 2 minutes left – GAME TIED AGAIN – end of regular time.

Over-Time rules are two 10 minute halves with the 1st team to score, game over. If no score at the end of 2 overtimes the game remains tied.

1st Over-Time: KCECA came right out and took a shot that just missed the goal. Spring Hill knew this was going to be a fight back and forth – no score for the first OT. 2nd OT: Spring Hill was all over their end shooting from everywhere but not finding the goal. Then with 5 minutes left in the 2nd OT Derek Bybee sent a ball into the box and Eric Kahn made a great move, turned and shot……..GOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

Spring Hill WINS! What a way to start the season! Spring Hill Soccer Wins!

VARSITY - It was wet and raining the whole game and we still played. It was a very even match. Both teams played hard with Louisburg taking a 1-0 lead at half-time. In the 2nd half we came back to tie the game with an assist from Eric Kahn to Niles Kahn who scored the goal. There was a bad call and Louisburg got a penalty kick scoring to make it 2-1 with 5 minutes left. Spring Hill was bringing everyone up to tie the game and Louisburg got a quick ball the other way and scored again. Final 3-1.

Both teams played hard and the boys played really well with our defense starting to come together in the 2nd half.

They will play their next game of the tournament on Thurs., Sept. 10. It will be Baldwin -vs- SH @ SH.

Sep 10Thu 4:30p BSoccer-JV/VAR-Frontier League, Baldwin @ SH-SHHS It was a crazy night last night with the JV starting off playing a great game but losing 1-0.

Then the Varsity took to the field against Baldwin. It was a hard fought game with both teams getting good chances to score but at the end of the game it was still tied 0-0.

Both teams took to the field again and played two over-times and the score was still tied 0-0. It now came down to penalty kicks with 5 players from each team kicking. At the end of that series of kicks it was tied 2-2 with goals going to Cody Jesse and Eric Kahn. Now after Sudden-Death Penalty Kicks in the 1st round it was still tied. 2nd round: Baldwin sent a shooter up. He hit the ball and MAN of the MATCH Zach Boyle stopped his 3rd Penalty kick. Then Shane (Cool as Ice) Bontrager stepped up, eyeballed the goal keeper and shot the ball past the keeper into the back of the net.

Oct 1Thu 4:30p BSoccer-JV/VAR-SH @ Gardner SHHS Spring Hill traveled to Gardner with the JV playing really well but lost the game 1-3. The only goal was scored by Ka Chun Cheung or (Angus) as many of you know him.

Varsity then took to the field and they gave up a really unlucky goal that Zach Boyle had made the save on but the ball bounced funny and rolled over the line for the score. The boys fought back and Eric (The Man of Steal) Kahn scored off a pass from Shane Bontrager making the score at half-time 1 to 1. Gardner came out in the second half scoring again 1st. But… guess who - YES Eric Kahn scored again to tie the game 2 to 2. The wind was picking up,the temperature dropping and Gardner got 2 more scores late in the game winning 4-2. The boys having been playing great and tonight they did again - nice job!

Oct 6Tue 4:30p BSoccer-JV/VAR-Sumner @ SH-SHHS Your Spring Hill Broncos played Sumner tonight - Sumner came out quick and had a couple of good chances to score but Zach Boyle just said NO! Spring Hill was playing the ball out fast and caught Sumner watching as Eric Kahn passed Cody Jesse a ball that he put into the back of the net giving Spring Hill a 1-0 lead at half-time. The second half started much quicker for us as Nathan Welch was taken down inside of the Sumner box. Cody Jesse took the Penalty Kick and put it away with authority – Score 2-0 Spring Hill. About 15 minutes later Eric Kahn took a Free Kick and scored. Sumner did not back down and kept coming back at us in waves but Zach Boyle was like a wall. They could not get anything passed him.

Oct 30Fri 7:00p BSoccer, VAR, SE Reg. 1, SH vs Louisburg @ Overland Park Soccer Complex, SHHS "Friday Night Soccer Under the Lights" Spring Hill vs Louisburg was held at the Overland Park Soccer Complex due to weather conditions. Louisburg
started quick with a goal in the first 3 minutes of the game and it was all

to score we just could not find the back of the net. Final Score was 4-0.
But the boys from Spring Hill did end their season with 10 wins and the
