Your 7th grade varsity Mavericks wrapped up their season over the weekend at the season ending league tournament. The first opponents for your Mavs were the Cardinals of Eudora. Your Mavericks started strong and never looked back. Great defensive hustle by Dalton Young and Michael Thomas led the way for the SHMS. Spring Hill advanced to the finals beating the Cardinals by a score of 45-30. Michael Thomas led the way with 12 points. Trevor Cluck scored 9. Chris Bybee and Konnor Green each added 6 points. Austin Jager scored 5. Kainon Langley was huge and scored 4 points. Ty Lovetinsky and Dalton Young added 2 and 1 points, respectively. With the victory over the Cardinals, your Mavs advanced to the finals to take on the Bulldogs of Baldwin. After a close first half, the Bulldogs showed why they were undefeated on the year. They pulled away and your Mavs could not recover. In the end the Bulldogs were victorious by a score of 55-30. Your Mavericks played hard and never gave up. The awesome "superfans" and all their enthusiasm wasn't enough to carry the Mavericks. They end the season with 10 wins and 5 losses. They were the second place team in the league tournament and if you ask nice enough, they may show you their medals. Nice season boys, you came a long way. Thanks fans for making the trip. SHMS fans rock the house silly. Trevor Cluck and Chris Bybee each had 8 points. Kainon Langley had 7 points. Michael Thomas scored 5 and Austin Jager added 2 points. |
